Education never stops. Self-education should be a daily habit.
This habit however only works if you’re passionate about your interests. It’s a self feeding cycle fuelled by motivation.

But how to achieve that? Well it starts with gathering information about subjects you are interested in. Gathering information is easy, you could start right now from your cellphone in your pocket. From books, to podcasts, to blogs and online courses there is much to be explored. So make use of this online resources, let it sink in.

Once you establish such a habit, you can hone your current skills and develop new ones.

But why is this important? Well, having one job in one industry is the accepted norm. That’s probably what you have been taught at school. You obey teachers, do tasks, graduate, find a job, than obey a boss, do tasks and eventually retire. Never leaving this comfortable traditional path laid out for you. Comfortable, but soul killing…

Formal education is, to my taste, outdated and lost its purpose long ago. Leaving at that, If you are like me, you probably don’t like to follow a predefined path where you eventually become a obedient worker who needs to find a job and hope for a decent employer on decent terms.
My suggestion is that you follow your core interests and that which your are passionate about. Don’t study for the sake of studying because that will make you miserable in the long run. Exhausting your soul and spirit every day.
Explore your core interests in stead and naturally you’ll generate the motivation and passion to pursue a career from it. Those who do, end up producing and/or publishing work of their own, independently. Let the entrepreneur in you be born and cast away the yes nodder from school.

“Many who are self-taught far excel the doctors, masters and bachelors of the most renowned universities. — Ludwig von Mises.
